Yesterday was the big appointment. We found out we are having a little girl! Quite the surprise for Jordan and I! However, she was already being stubborn and would not turn her head off of my bladder so we could finish measuring her, so we are going back in 2 weeks (hopefully I will have a good picture to give you). I have been run down lately. I have an upper respiratory infection and have just been tired. I am being refered to a cardiologist for fainting 3 times so far since I have been pregnant. I am praying everything is okay. I have been less nauseous which is a blessing!!
Jordan is also really excited about baby! He has been so amazing with school and taking care of his sick pregnant wife. He studies alot and is doing his best in school. He has also been working on our house when he gets a spare minute. We have finished taking off the wallpaper and we are now painting the rest of the house, so my participation has officially ended...lol. We have had so many volunteers to help us paint and many more helped us with the wallpaper. Thank-you friends and family!!
We love and miss everyone at home and can not wait to see you soon!

Brrrrr

It was a rather chilly morning at 2 degrees with a with a wind chill of -11. Normally, when it is this cold most people stay inside. Despite the cold weather, I have a husband that insists on fishing. And not fishing from the shore or on a boat, but in in the river. I mean, c'mon really? I have learned that when it comes to fishing, it is best to set our common sense aside. The latest edition to his tackle box is my cooking spray. Apparently the spray keeps his gear from freezing. He usually does pretty well and catches some big fish. I love my crazy husband!

And the suprises keep on coming...bring it on 2010
Last year was absolutely crazy for us! Seriously... sometimes I wonder if we will ever have a "normal" life! Oh well, maybe we are supposed to be wandering nomadic students. Jordan did very well in his first semester of dental school and has been working so hard on our house. It is looking really good! We also had some help from my mom, sister and Jordan's parents. They came out from California to help us get the house ready for move in! Some dental school and church friends also came to help us with the daunting task of wallpaper removal. Most of you know, we are expecting new addition to our family in June... which was our most recent surprise. I have not been feeling all that wonderful, but Jordan has been an amazing help:). Our church family has also been such an amazing blessing to have during this time. I start a new job on Monday at a local hospital...I hope it goes well!! We have been thanking the Lord for all that we have been blessed with and continue to pray for guidance in this crazy life of ours! Happy New Year, may God continue to bless your family!

Life
We have been living in New York for several months now and have begun to grasp everything that has gone on over the past several months. I have been working for about 1 and a 1/2 months at Family Care Physicians and Jordan has been in school for 2 and a 1/2 months. It is easy to lose sight of why we are here and what we are to be doing. During church this morning the pastor mentioned how it is so easy to cry out to the Lord in a time of need and forget to do so when life is "alright"( we visited a new church today that we loved). Jordan and I have been praying for peace in this new adventure in our lives. We are still trying to find our place here among friends, work, church and school and have also become more involved in some local events as well. I did the Breast Cancer walk (in the pouring rain), Jordan went to his first Saber's hockey game, we tailgaited for the Buffalo Bill's game and have had some fun dinner's with friends. Jordan and I bought our first house a couple of weeks ago and are hoping to "close" November 20th. We have been so blessed with everything and everyone we have been provided!

Settling In... well, trying anyways

The past several weeks have just seemed to have flown by for us. Jordan has been studying day and night when not in school and I have started my new job. I am working at a Family Practice (which is definitely different from where I was before). Everyone is very nice and willing to teach! It will be good to get some adult experience to diversify my scope of practice. We are still trusting the Lord with our every move and praying that we eventually get some sort of routine going in our lives. We have met some amazing people and have been able to have some fun with them! Thank-you Jesus! However, we are still trying different churches in attempt to find a "good fit" for us (we have visited some very interesting churches and we have some very interesting stories to accompany them). We are also looking for a house! Various incentives, such as the tax credit and in-state tuition, have lead us house hunting. As with any big purchase, we are considering each and every "pro and con" and praying allot! We will keep you updated with what happens with this decision. The pictures posted are some of us out with our amazing friends and some of free T.V. we found! Quite the find for my football watching husband...he was so proud! However, we are still using a rug, sleeping bag and pillows as a couch. It is amazing what you can live without!!

Faith, Hope and Love

It has been a while since we have updated our blog and we plan on continuing to update you(at least for our moms' sake) on the unending adventures of our lives! We had a difficult time finding the words to express the roller coaster we have been on the past several months. Jordan had been interviewing all over the country for dental school and had been placed on several wait lists. Mean while, I finished up my final semester in the nursing program and anxiously studied for the national boards. By the end of June neither of us anticipated that we would be accepted to dental school this year. Jordan renewed his contract with his job at Wells Fargo and reapplied to 15 dental schools. I continued working at Children's Hospital as a Registered Nurse and we decided to move from Fresno to Clovis. Two funerals, a move, and a wedding later we found out we had been accepted to both Buffalo and Philadelphia dental schools. We booked our flight to Philadelphia... decided it wasn't for us and drove to Buffalo, NY. We put down our deposit at the school, found an apartment in 1 day and drove back to Philadelphia. When we returned to Clovis, we again packed as much as we could into a shipping pod and sent it to New York. I continued working at Children's for several weeks and Jordan left for school. After sleeping his first night in New York in a sleeping bag on our apartment floor, several dental students (strangers at the time) helped Jordan move our stuff into our new apartment(I suspect these amazing people will be friends for life). I moved to New York last week and have had several job interviews since. Through this whirlwind time, which we thought might be a calm summer, we are praying for the Lord's will to be done with our lives. I don't think that we fully knew the extent of our faith until we had to leave everything we knew and move across the country with 2 weeks notice. We went from two very good jobs, to being unemployed and taking out large student loans. What an incredible lesson we have learned in trusting the Lord! Faith means trust... don't worry. If he has called us, then he will take care of us. With this faith and trust, an amazing hope for the future has been instilled in us. It has been brought to our attention how unimportant our previous concerns were and that we should continuously be focusing our eyes on him; for we are here on earth to do his work... are we not? Our love for the Lord continues to grow with each "trying and trusting" situation we go through, and our love for each other has grown as well. Through 6 years of dating and 1 year of marriage we always knew we were each other's best friends, but the past several weeks we have had to rely on the Lord and each other more than ever. With the Lord in charge, our lives will always be beautiful and full of Faith, Hope and Love... no matter where we are or what we have.
" And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him" - Hebrews 11:6

A 'lil' bit of Buffalo
We had a very interesting and last minute trip to Buffalo, NY last week for another dental school interview. For this interview, I was able to go on the tour of the school and talk to some current students and faculty. It seemed to be a very family oriented school, which I liked and they also get a month for summer break (which no other school has)! The trip started off rocky and continued that way through the end. We missed our first flight and were routed through Washtington D.C. where all flights were cancelled or delayed. Then one hour after we landed in Buffalo, an awful plane crash occured. On the way home we gave our seats up for a later flight and some "generous compensation". It was an adventure and we continue to do our best to seek the Lord in all decisions that are made. We appreciate your continued prayers. Hopefully we will recieve an acceptance soon!
